Electric Steering

In order to function property, all stone processing machines must have an adequate steering system, i.e. automatic control engineering system.


During realization of the above mentioned system, we take into consideration all the functional features of machines, which result from client’s needs and currently available steering subassemblies.


In the last 10 years, due to increasing expectations of consumers, next to significant changes in mechanics, we have observed a significant development of electric steering.  Those changes relate to occurrence of new trends in stone processing in the world market, and meeting this demand is what must be achieved. For years, the most required service was simple cutting and polishing stone. Machines such as One-Support or Two-Support (formatting) Saws and Grinding Machines for rectangle slabs were meeting the demand of customers in the market. However, with time, it was becoming more and more important that employee’s working time, spend on operating the machine must be shortened, and this is a very important criterion of clients’ requirements regarding stone processing machinery.


That is why, we have started to introduce measuring systems for disc movements in saws, in order to shorten measurement process work time. Our systems are based on magnetic motion sensors, counters and encoders.


This is the subject we are constantly developing and look for new and better solutions. Saws can also be programmed (in an automatic cycle) to cut material in ‘stripes’ of user defined width (5-20 different widths) and user defined number of repetitions (1-99 times). We have introduced in Grinding Machines the possibility to program its operation cycle (combination of various methods of milling with user defined number of repetitions), plus the possibility to automatically process more than one slab. Employee who is operating the machine, is only obliged to program the machine and start the cycle (the machine is automatically operated).


Another criterion, which sets out the direction of development in steering systems, is the versatility of machines included in the offer provided by PROMASZ. We have introduced the whole range of different solutions, which next to cutting and polishing, enable other type of processing, namely;


  • cutting space profiles and columns (following the readymade design or own project entered to the program of the machine) by 1 and 2-Support Saws,
  • grinding, polishing up to 5 plates of convex polygon shape (not only rectangular) with appliance of grinding machinery
  • processing of edges of plates, milling and polishing, depending on suitable working program: chamfers, flat sides, quarter rounds, half rounds, rounds and processing other profiles by Edge Profiling Machines
  • processing of kitchen tops, sink plates, cutting holes, processing inner and outer edges, milling, grinding, drilling by multifunctional ‘Multinova’ machine
  • cutting stone slabs with disc saws 3 [m] or with a diamond rope
  • drilling, cutting and polishing vases or columns, with appliance of Vase Production Machine Set (drilling machine, milling machine, polishing machine)
  • processing edges of windowsills by 10-Head Edge Polishers
  • cutting out with rope optional profiles (inscriptions) in slabs – Profile Rope Saws with CNC 2 axle controller)  

Such assumptions in production program are of significant importance for implementation of more and more complex control systems:   


NC- based on microprocessor drivers (containing operation program of the machine) cooperating with touch screen or text panels. 5,5” Touch Screens are used to select various functions on touch screen display. We also apply various steering elements, such as; measurement sensors, laser sensors, optical sensors, counters displaying the path of shift in axles.


CNC – computer control, which enables entering unlimited number of profiles and models to the memory of the machine. Selection of options is made on 15” touch screen display.
