The machine is intended for milling and polishing of:

• phases
• flat sides
• quarter rounds (down-up or up-down processing)
• half rounds (down-up or up-down processing)
• other elements (e.g. rounded profiles with a small radius on the edge)

The maximum length of the plate that can be worked: 3000 mm. 

The basic constructional elements of the machine are: 

• the table, on which the plate lies,
• an arch-like element, on which the motor with the grinding disk moves (O 100,…)

The above mentioned motor (a special motor intended only for the side milling machines) is equipped with a number of cylinders, which press the disk against the stone. The first processing of the shape is executed using a diamond mill disk (mechanical blockade of the pressure).
The arch-like element (with installed drives) can move with the carriage along the table, on guide bars, and upwards and downwards along a screw.
The disk can alternately move along the table and along the arch upwards and downwards (according to the movement selected), which produces profiles – arches on the side wall.
If the grinding disk is set at a selected angle, then moving along the table the disk produces a phase or a flat side.

Every dimension of the plate requires its appropriate placement:

• moving the plate slightly before the edge of the table,
• adjusting the whole element for the working of arches (upwards or downwards – along the screw under to the condition that the center of the plate’s side has to cover with the center of the grinding disk.

The machine can be operated using a control cabinet or a remote control. In the manual cycle all the settings of the machine can be executed and the movement of the disk by a set angle, upwards or downwards along the arch from the given position,  can be programmed. 

The automatic operation requires setting of the machine in relation to the plate (taking into account the plate’s thickness) and putting appropriate parameters and the operational program (profile)  into the machine using the operator’s board, which cooperates with the programmable control unit FESTO.

The movement of the carriage along the table is controlled by inverter 1.
The vertical movement (up and down along the screw) of the whole constructional element for the production of arches and the movement along the arch is controlled by inverter 2.
The application of the above mentioned inverters allows the selection of appropriate parameters for a smooth start-up and braking, the regulation of the speed and the protection of the motor from damage.

The size of the machine can be adjusted to the local requirements of the customer.
