The machine’s purpose is milling and polishing the phases and flat sides.
The supporting construction of the machine is a steel framework, along which a carriage with two heads moves. One of the heads (no. 2) – the horizontal one – PLANETARY – works the flats sides. It is powered mechanically – by a screw with electric power supply, and it is pneumatically (regulated air pressure) pushed towards the piece to be worked (by a group of cooperating servo-motors).
The setting of head 1 of 45 0 (a screw mechanism with electric power supply) allows the milling of the phase on the edge of the upper plate.
In the automatic cycle only one of the heads works. The speed of the movement of the carriage along the framework is controlled and the movement is produced by the mechanism: gear wheel – toothed bar.
The movement of the carriage is controlled by an inverter. This ensures, apart from continuous regulation of speed, also a gradual start and braking, which to a great extent prolongs the life of the machine. It also protects it from overload and switches it off when voltage changes occur or phases vanish.
In the automatic cycle the number of cycles – movements forwards and backwards (along the frame)- can be programmed. Having completed the programmed movements the head is switched off and is automatically brought away from the plate.
The second component of the side milling machine is a table with the possibility to raise the plate (pneumatically). In order to enable the rotation of the plate it is installed by pneumatic cylinders.
The transport is by the buyer’s own means.
In case the buyer does not order the cable guide to the water and power supply, it is his responsibility to connect the machine to the supply cabinet.
It is the obligation of the buyer to install the main switch in a casing on the wall and to guarantee an easy reach of the switch.
